Proper maintenance and care of water jet looms are essential to ensure stable operation, extend machine lifespan, and improve production efficiency and product quality. Today, weâll introduce the key precautions for new machine installation and subsequent maintenance procedures.
Initial Setup After Installation
After the water jet loom is installed and positioned, the factory maintenance team should re-lubricate all oiling points. Then, run the machine idle for 3â4 hours before starting adjustments.
Anchor bolts should be tightened again after the machine has been running for one week.
After adjusting the water pump pressure each time, tighten the pump copper ring to extend the pumpâs service life
Key Maintenance Points During Normal Operation
Pump cam rotor & connecting piece needle bearings: Lubricate once per shift with No. 2 lithium-based grease.
Suction fan: Lubricate every 2â3 days.
Lubrication Points During Routine Maintenance
The following components should be lubricated with No. 2 lithium-based grease during each cleaning and maintenance session:

Lubrication Tips:
Apply small amounts frequently rather than large amounts at once.
For hard-to-reach areas like heddle lifting feet and connecting rods, lubricate after installation.
Avoid using high-pressure air guns on oil seals to prevent damage.
Oil Replacement Schedule
Main gearbox:
First oil change: After 1 month of operation.
Second oil change: After 3 more months.
Third oil change: After 6 more months.
Subsequent changes: Once per year.
Oil type: ISO 150 mechanical oil (fill to the middle of the oil gauge; do not overfill).
Winding & warp feed worm gearboxes:
Same schedule as the main gearbox (replace simultaneously).
Oil type: ISO 460 gear oil.
Transmission gearbox:
Oil change every 2 years.
Use special transmission oil.
Common Issues & Precautions
Based on after-sales feedback, water ingress in the main gearbox and bearing failures in connecting rods & heddle shafts often occur due to inadequate post-installation cleaning.
Clean thoroughly with high-pressure water to remove residual yarn and sizing paste around oil seals.
Avoid directing high-pressure water at oil seals (e.g., on beating-up shaft bearings and drive shaft bearings).
